DIY Christmas Ornament This is an elegant, easy to make Christmas ornament that cost less than $5 to make. You will need: 2 oz. Sculpey Clay in pearl Piece of white lace Swarovski flat back white pearls 16ss tweezer or wax tipped tool poker tool or sharpened pencil Sobo glue Jute twine Begin by rolling out the Sculpey Clay to ¼ of an inch thickness(a soup can works well). When the clay is the correct thickness, cut out your shape using a cookie cutter or template. If using cookie cutters, save for use with clay only. With either a poker tool or sharpened pencil, make a hole near the top of your ornament large enough to be able to thread the jute twine through. Line a cookie sheet with plain white paper. Place your ornament on the white paper and bake in a preheated 275 degree oven for 15 minutes. When done baking, remove from the oven and allow to cool. Once your ornament is cool, you can glue a piece of lace across the front using Sobo brand glue. Once the glue is dry on your lace, place a drop of glue large enough so that the glue will cover the edges of the pearl. Using a tweezer or wax tipped tool, place a pearl on the drop of glue and gently press down. Allow to dry. Finally, thread a piece of jute twine through your hole and your ornament is finished. Great for gift giving or for decorating your own tree.
